| Triage (or Bugs)
by adminAs with any software developement project, the Bentokit software requires the help of people using the software to identify problems and errors with the software (known as 'bugs'), and then to report them to the developers so they may be fixed as soon as possible.
If you think you have found a bug with the software, firstly ask yourself:
- Is it really a bug, and not a feature of the software? In other words, has the software been intentionally designed that way?
- Can you reopen the software and repeat the problem? That is, can you replicate the circumstances that led to the error or problem occurring? If so, write down the steps to repeat it.
If you answer "no" to either of these, file a question here detailing what your problem is, and asking if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
If you answer "yes" to both of these, report the issue within the appropriate Launchpad project
You will need to register with Launchpad.net in order to report a bug or ask a question. However your OpenID login in Launchpad doubles as your login to the Bentokit Project website, and also allows you to interact with any other Launchpad project, so it is worthwhile registering. If you don't want to register, use our mailing lists instead.
Launchpad.net is a development community portal for software projects like ours. It manages bug tracking, code management, specification and documentation tracking, build and release management, and community support.
